Dai Narcos all'arte. Testimonianze di rigenerazione urbana da Bogotá

Bogotá is one of most interesting examples in the contemporary scene of urban regeneration. Choosing a barrio famous in the city for being a headquarter of drugs trade, symbol of 80’s urban decay, Bogotá wants to offer a new vision of itself to the world – not as the capital of narcos’ State, but as innovative modern city, ready to change its negative image. The selected urban area, called Bronx, had a terrible history of drugs addiction, but in the last years the city decides to regenerate it trough art and culture. The Municipality started to transform it into a Distrito Creativo, an urban lab opened to the industry of culture and the world of art, using Bronx’s streets and liberated spaces to connect citizens, artists and enterprises, mixing business and cultural events. The experience of Distrito was so satisfying in the last festival editions, that the city chose to confirm it approving a special plan, the PPRU, converting Bronx in the new cultural core of Bogotá.
